Two men were confirmed dead after their car collided with a Utah Transit Authority bus parked at approximately 3750 S.

WEST VALLEY CITY Two men were confirmed dead after their car collided with a Utah Transit Authority bus parked at approximately 3750 S. Redwood Road about 10:45 a.m. Sunday. The bus was stopped at bus stop after dropping off three passengers when the four-door sedan reportedly rear-ended it, according to UTA spokesman Gerry Carpenter. There were no passengers on the bus when the accident occurred and the driver was not injured, Carpenter said. Police found empty beer cans in and around the car of 18-year-old Pita Kapetaua and 25-year-old Nelson Leituala and believe alcohol might have been a factor after drawing blood from the driver, said West Valley City police. The men installed an amplifier in the car Saturday night, police said. Carpenter said UTA would review the accident. The bus driver will be placed on administrative leave and undergo drug and alcohol testing as required by the agency's administrative procedures following a critical accident, he said. e-mail:
