Peerless-AV is showing transit agencies how they can expand digital signage offerings for any environment.
Jack McKeague, general manager and vice president of sales – display division for Peerless-AV, said the Xtreme Display is fully sealed so the unit is fully protected from the environment.
“The beauty of the unit also that for the industry we’re participating in right here is that with break dust, any kind of outdoor wind, sand dirt, nothing can get into this screen, nothing can get out of this screen,” he said.
The Xtreme unit uses LG screen rated to withstand high temperatures and the heating and cooling units are within the 6 inch frame as opposed to external mounts. The Xtreme is rated to withstand temperatures from -40 degrees to 140 degrees.
McKeague said the units all contain tuners within them so they can still run on cabling. It creates powers savings as the most expensive part of the unit is the few milliseconds when it powers up.
