Calgary Transit and Brampton Transit have added new transit buses to their respective fleets.
Calgary Transit to bring in new shuttle buses
Calgary Transit will be adding 160 community shuttle buses to its fleet during the next year. The shuttle buses will replace older models of buses.
The agency says the buses will feature air conditioning for a better ride for customers and will offer better fuel efficiency, enhanced reliability and lower maintenance costs. Each new shuttle also includes a single front-mounted bike rack, available during daylight hours only, and offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
Calgary Transit notes the first wave of new shuttles began rolling out in May, with more arriving in the months ahead. Some of the agency’s older shuttles feature more than 800,000 kilometers (497,000 miles) of use.
The new shuttles follow the introduction of 20 new shuttles in 2024.
