Expanded service hits Salt Lake City

Aug. 13, 2019

Improved service on three Utah Transit Authority routes is coming to Salt Lake City, Utah, which will be part of the city’s Frequent Transit Network (FTN) made possible by the Funding Our Future initiative.

Utah Transit Authority’s Routes 2, 9 and 21 will see expanded service along with a new route, Route 4.

Routes 2, 9 and 21 will have later service, running until midnight Monday through Saturday; they will now have Sunday service; and they will run every 15 minutes Monday through Saturday and every 30 minutes on Sunday.

These routes will also receive bus stop improvements.

Route 4 is also being introduced at this time. The new route creates east-west connectivity unlike other routes. It runs from the Glendale and Poplar Grove neighborhoods through downtown along 400 South to the University of Utah. Route 4 then runs on Foothill Blvd to Olympus Cove with 30-minute frequency on weekdays.
