Transdev North America has announced it will continue serving the public transit needs of Sonoma County Transit after the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors approved a five-year contract renewal this spring.
Transdev has provided service to Sonoma County since 1989. The new contract will continue Transdev’s operations and maintenance efforts for the 23-route system that connects Sonoma County’s mix of rural and urban communities and transports 1.2 million passengers each year. The contract also includes maintenance for the County’s paratransit vehicles.
“Every day, Sonoma County Transit serves a critical function linking employees with jobs, students with schools and patients to medical centers. The diverse geographic profile of Sonoma County requires a robust transit system to enable mobility for all citizens,” said Ron Bushman, regional vice president, Northwest Region. “Our safety and overall performance metrics have been exceptional. We are proud to operate such an important system that serves the coastal, rural and urban centers of picturesque Sonoma County.”
Transdev will be responsible for operations and maintenance of the 102-vehicle fleet and the 95 employees who ensure that the reliability of the system is exceptional on a daily basis.
