Demarcus Peters Named Director of Diversity at Cincinnati Metro

Demarcus Peters has joined Cincinnati Metro as director of diversity - title VI, DBE compliance and EEO officer.

Demarcus Peters has joined Cincinnati Metro as director of diversity - title VI, DBE compliance and EEO officer.

In this newly created role, Peters will oversee efforts to identify, expand and accelerate the use of diverse suppliers, including minority-owned, women-owned, veteran-owned and small disadvantaged business enterprises.

Peters brings a wealth of diversity and inclusion experience to Metro. He served as the Small Business Program Analyst for Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA), where he successfully increased diverse suppliers, supplier development, and external community involvement. Prior to his experience with MARTA, Peters monitored Local Small Business Enterprise plans and procurement processes as a Senior Contract Compliance Officer.

In addition, he previously served with community development funder, Enterprise Community Partners as a Program Director assisting with contract and budget approval processes and providing technical assistance to small businesses and community-based organizations. Peters served on the Atlanta Beltline Tax Allocation District Advisory as part of a sustainable redevelopment project that will provide a network of parks, trails and transit along a historic 22-mile Atlanta railroad corridor.

Peters earned his Juris Doctor from Texas Southern University’s Thurgood Marshall School of Law and undergraduate from The University of Texas at Austin.
