BC Ferries Readies Baynes Sound Connector

Jan. 22, 2016

BC Ferries is making final preparations to welcome its newest vessel, the Baynes Sound Connector, into regular service between Buckley Bay and Denman Island early February.

As part of the service integration, from Jan. 22 through Jan. 28, and from Jan. 31 through Feb. 3, the new cable ferry, the Baynes Sound Connector, will provide service on some of the regularly scheduled sailings throughout the day. These sailings will carry passengers and vehicles. During this time, the current vessel, the Quinitsa, will provide the scheduled sailings when the Baynes Sound Connector is not running. The regular schedule between Buckley Bay and Denman Island remains in effect as the two vessels alternate.

BC Ferries looks forward to officially welcoming the newest addition to the fleet into full service in early February. The new cable ferry utilizes less than half the fuel of the Quinitsa, and will serve the route for the next 40 years.
