RTC Offers Free Rides for New Year's Eve

Dec. 30, 2015

For the 31st year, all regularly scheduled RTC transit services will be free beginning on New Year’s Eve at 6 p.m. through 2 a.m. on New Year’s Day. Not all locations are served by transit, so everyone is encouraged to plan ahead by going to http://www.rtcwashoe.com and using the Google Transit feature or viewing routes and schedules.

The RTC New Year’s Eve free Safe Ride is made possible through the generous support of our sponsors. Event partners include: Renown Health, the Northern Nevada DUI Task Force, KOLO 8, Wood Rodgers Inc., Club Cal Neva, REMSA, Morrey Distributing, Reno Firefighters Local 731, the RSCVA, Reno News & Review, Washoe County Honorary Deputy Sheriff’s Association, Cumulus Media and the DJ Benardis Memorial Fund.

On New Year’s Day, Jan. 1, all RTC transit services will be operating on a Sunday schedule. RTC Intercity will not operate this day and Passenger Services will be closed. The Sierra Spirit, which is the downtown circulator service, will continue operation as it does every day and on all holidays. Additionally, RTC administrative offices will be closed on New Year’s Eve starting at 3 p.m. and remain closed Jan. 1.
