DART and the Kent County Association of Realtors (KCAR) partnered on a project to provide a bus shelter on MLK Blvd. at Courtside Apartments in Dover for the community. Now, our DART riders will be sheltered while awaiting the bus that will take them to work, home, shopping, visiting friends and family, or wherever they need to travel.
On Dec. 16, DART and KCAR representatives along with representatives from the Delaware Association of Realtors had a ribbon cutting and dedication ceremony at this new bus shelter. During the dedication ceremony, Dick Brogan, 2015 KCAR president, shared, “Realtors are more than just licensed business people. We work every day to strengthen our communities. Our contribution to this covered bus stop is a small example of our commitment to partner with our community leaders to make Dover, Kent County and Delaware a better place to live and work.”
KCAR received a National Association of Realtors Placemaking Grant through a micro grants program. These grant monies allowed them to assist DART in funding this new bus shelter.
“The bus shelter displays a sign recognizing KCAR for partially funding this project,” said Sharon Williams, DART’s marketing and outreach manager. “We were glad to have the opportunity to work with KCAR on this community project.”
