The Central Florida Regional Transportation Authority (LYNX) has accepted Kris Kringle’s offer to return as a holiday bus operator.
Kringle will begin driving his seasonally designed bus Nov. 30 and stay in the operator’s chair until his “real job” takes him away on Dec. 24. Passengers lucky enough to find Santa driving their route will ride that Link for free. Routes will change daily.
Santa will stop driving for one afternoon and take photos with all of the “nice” Central Florida boys and girls in the LYNX Central Station Terminal 2 - 5 p.m. Dec. 18.
Anyone wishing to have their photo taken with Santa will need to provide their own camera. LYNX volunteers will be in attendance to assist with photography, if needed.
In order to come back early from a fishing trip and drive for the 18th consecutive year, he insisted LYNX play a “go fish” for passes game with its customers. On Dec. 4, LYNX themed fish will be scattered amongst the agencies 4,300 stops. When customers find a fish they must bring it to the LYNX Customer Service Window at LYNX Central Station and exchange it for an All-Day pass. Those customers will then be entered to win one of 10 30-Day passes. All fish must be turned in by Dec. 18.
This is a fun way for LYNX to say thank you to all of the 30 million passengers for being loyal throughout the year.
