Lane Transit District (LTD), Eugene Airport and Lane Community College are partnering to start the Airport Connector, a one-year pilot service to the airport.
“The Airport Connector will integrate seamlessly with our existing system,” says Andy Vobora, director of customer services and planning for LTD. “It will connect with our Route 95 on weekdays, giving the community an additional option for travel to the airport.”
Passengers wishing to use the Airport Connector must simply ride LTD’s Route 95 — Junction City from downtown Eugene and transfer at Highway 99 & Airport Road. The Airport Connector is free to ride with valid LTD fare paid on the connecting Route 95 bus.
“There has been a lot of interest from passengers, students and people who work at the airport for a public transit connection,” said Eugene Airport Director Tim Doll, AAE. “We are very pleased to be a part of this pilot program and look forward to a successful launch of the Airport Connector.”
In addition to providing service to nearly 1,500 people that work on Eugene Airport property, the Airport Connector will serve Lane Aviation Academy. A part of Lane Community College, 120 students training to become pilots and maintenance technicians travel to the academy.
"Lane Community College looks forward to expanding our existing relationship with Lane Transit District to provide increased transportation options for our students and community, says Brian Kelly, vice president of college services at Lane Community College. “Thousands of students use LTD every day to assist in realizing their educational goals."
