RTC Unveils Pink Bus

Sept. 23, 2015

The RTC is helping raise awareness about dense breast tissue working with the local non-profit, Each One. Tell One.

A pink bus sponsored by Renown Regional Medical Center and Grafics Unlimited will be debuted under the Reno Arch on Sept. 24 at 10 a.m. The bus is part of a larger campaign by Each One. Tell One. launching its inaugural awareness campaign to educate Nevadans about dense breast tissue which may make cancer more difficult to detect during a mammogram and an additional exam, such as an Ultrasound or MRI, can find more and smaller cancers than can be detected by mammography alone.

“My cancer was caught early and that has made all the difference in treating it,” RTC Chair Neoma Jardon said. “This bus is an important reminder for women to tell each other to get regular screenings, and that additional exams might be needed to detect cancer for women with dense breast tissue.”

The pink bus will serve the RTC RAPID line, which includes much of Virginia Street. It is the most popular line in the RTC transit system with 7,000 trips taken daily.
