RTC Travel Study Underway in Washoe County

Sept. 17, 2015

The RTC is currently conducting an extensive Transportation Travel Survey with data collection now underway. Within the overall study there are three separate surveying components: the Visitors Survey, the On-Board Survey, and the Household Travel Survey. In all surveys, participants are being interviewed about their daily travel patterns. Information collected is confidential and analyzed as a whole, not ultimately linked to a specific name. Additionally, the data will be used solely for transportation planning purposes throughout the Truckee Meadows.

“The information we collect in these surveys is going to be an integral part of our ongoing transportation planning efforts and programs,” said Amy Cummings, RTC director of planning, overseeing the study. “We sincerely appreciate the time and input of the residents who live in the communities served by the RTC as well as visitors to the Truckee Meadows area.”

All surveys are being conducted by NuStats Research Solutions, an independent, accredited survey research company. NuStats has implemented previous transportation-related studies in Reno, Lake Tahoe, Sacramento, San Francisco and throughout the United States.
