Wheels to Offer Free Rides to Students

Aug. 19, 2015

The Livermore Amador Valley Transit Authority (LAVTA), operator of the Wheels bus service, announced that Tri-Valley middle and high school students can ride free as part of its annual Try Transit to School promotion.

Now in its 15th year, the special promotion offers unlimited rides on all regularly scheduled Wheels bus routes from Sept. 7-18 for all Tri-Valley middle and high school students. During the promotion, students can ride Wheels free to and from school, as well as during non-school times to get to work, shopping and other fun places.

“We’re proud to offer a great transportation alternative for students in our annual Try Transit to School promotion,” states Don Biddle, LAVTA Board chair. “We hope students and parents take advantage of this promotion and continue to ride Wheels throughout the year. It’s a hassle-free way to move around the Tri-Valley.”

To take advantage of the promotion, students simply board a Wheels Bus and ride. No ticket or pass is required.

For schedule information, the Wheels bus book is available on the Wheels website and is available at key locations in the Tri-Valley including the Livermore Transit Center, as well as onboard the buses. Information is also available by calling the Wheels Customer Service line.
