TransIT Announces TransIT ezFare Online Web Portal

Aug. 10, 2015

On Aug. 7 TransIT Services of Frederick County announced an online Web Portal for TransIT ezFare, the mobile ticketing application. The tool can be used by agencies and organizations to log-in, purchase tickets in any quantity and push them to individual smart phones for passengers to use with the mobile ticketing app. The announcement comes after a successful six months of TransIT ezFare; over 16,000 trips were purchased in the first six months of launch. TransIT is the first system in the nation to have this mobile ticketing online feature.

The ezFare Web Portal will be launched after a testing period with the Frederick County Detention Center who frequently purchases tickets for clients. The Portal will not only reduce the need for accounting services but will also eliminate many paper ticket and monetary transactions. Agencies, organizations and even single passengers can log-on, create an account, enter the information of potential recipients and buy tickets in any quantity to push to the individual cell phone. The portal will be available through the TransIT webpage.

Nancy Norris, division director quotes, “In effort to increase passenger convenience and enhance the user experience we worked with TripSpark Technologies, the mobile ticketing app developer, to create this one-of-a kind portal. Parents can purchase tickets for their children, agencies for their members and so on. We expect to see great value with the addition of the ezFare Web Portal.”
