The Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS) is issuing reimbursements for passengers who had active 7-day or 31-day passes during the three-day strike by the Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) Local 998. ATU leaders went on a three-day strike despite a new contract proposal from MCTS that would significantly increase bus drivers and mechanics pay.
The strike stranded tens of thousands of people across Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Washington and Waukesha Counties who rely on MCTS to get to work, school and medical appointments.
MCTS is updating its website with a FAQ page that has more information about the contract and debunking false rumors some union leaders are spreading.
