June 10, 2015

Charlotte Area Transit System Interim Chief Executive Officer John Muth was awarded the North Carolina Department of Transportation’s Governor’s Public Transportation Award at the North Carolina Public Transportation Association’s annual conference in Concord on June 9.  The award is presented to an individual for their contribution to improving public transportation services in North Carolina and for outstanding service in public transportation.

“It is an honor to be considered for this award,” he said.  “It’s very special to receive it.  I share this with all of my colleagues at CATS.”

Muth has been with the CATS organization since 2000.  Before being named interim CEO in January, he was CATS’ deputy director and the divisional manager for the Development Division where he was responsible for the design and implementation of the LYNX Blue Line, the Blue Line Extension and other major capital projects.
