DART Announces Winners of Transit Poster Contest

May 14, 2015

DART announced the winners of its 15th Annual Statewide Transit Poster Contest.  Three winners will receive prizes from DART and its Business Partner, Wilmington Blue Rocks.

Sixteen Students from four schools and/or after-school programs statewide participated in the contest, depicting their vision of this year’s theme, “DART, Moving Forward.”  Students researched the bus service and its various destinations and learned of the benefits of riding transit in Delaware.  Students from 6th through 12th grade were invited to participate.  A First Place Winner from each participating grade was chosen along with an overall Grand Prize Winner.  There were no entries for 7th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade this year.

This year’s Grand Prize Winner is Peter Furman, a 9th Grader from Cab Calloway School of the Arts.  Peter’s artwork will be placed on all DART buses statewide and also be featured on our website, DartFirstState.com and in DART’s newsletters.

The 1st Place Winners by grade are:

  • 6th Grade - Sydney Sims-Brown - John Bassett Moore Intermediate School, Ms. Davis
  • 8th Grade - Daimere Wilson-Turner - Central Middle School, Elaine Buford
  • 9th Grade - Peter Furman - Cab Calloway School of the Arts, Mr. Hanel

All first place winners will receive a number of prizes from DART and be recognized at a future Wilmington Blue Rocks game.
