The numbers are in, and HART had a very big month for ridership in August, including another month of more than a million trips on HART bus service.
A total of 1,274,313 trips were taken last month, which marks the 54th consecutive month of serving more than 1 million bus rides. February 2010 was the last month with under 1 million rides. This continues a strong upward ridership trend for HART, with four straight years of record ridership. The agency has seen record ridership in 9 of the past 10 years.
"This ridership growth is impressive and shows a strong demand for service," said HART Interim Chief Executive Officer Katharine Eagan. "It's clear from these numbers that there's a strong demand for transit and that the number of new potential riders is growing."
