RGRTA’s Chief Operating Officer Daniele Coll-Gonzalez, has announced that Michael P. DeRaddo was named the transit authority’s new regional director, effective July 7.
As Regional Director, DeRaddo will be responsible for all of RGRTA’s subsidiary transit operations in seven counties: Genesee, Livingston, Orleans, Seneca, Wayne and Wyoming. DeRaddo will also oversee operations in Ontario County, when it joins RGRTA on Aug. 1, 2014.
Most recently, DeRaddo served as director of the Department of Transportation for Ontario County’s County Area Transit System (CATS) for three years. CATS’ operation included public transit, Medicaid-funded non-emergency medical transportation, and social services and senior transportation. Under his leadership, CATS was named New York State’s Outstanding Rural Transit System of the Year in 2012 and 2013. DeRaddo also is a decorated veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the U.S., Iraq, Egypt, and Korea, in various executive roles in management, logistics and transportation.
Coll-Gonzalez said, “Mike brings a unique set of skills and experience to the position of Regional Director. At CATS, he was responsible for managing a $5.7 Million commercial bus contract—and, as a senior logistics advisor and officer in the military, he provided logistics support for more than 100,000 people. His leadership and experience in transit and transportation are invaluable to the Authority and we are fortunate to have Mike join our team at this critical time of expansion and regional connectivity.”
De Raddo says, “It’s a tremendous honor to be RGRTA’s newest member. I am committed to continuing the great work done by RGRTA every day by ensuring our regional team strives for excellence and being the preferred transportation choice.”
DeRaddo’s office will be located at RGRTA’s John G. Doyle Administration Building at 1372 East Main St., Rochester, but he will spend the majority of his time in the regional offices.
DeRaddo holds a Master’s degree in Logistics Management from the Florida Institute of Technology and Bachelor of Science degree from the Rochester Institute of Technology.
Mike, his wife Debbie and their two sons, Michael and Kevin, reside in Oaks Corners, N.Y.
