MA: Keolis Names David Mitrou General Counsel and Director of Labor Affairs for MBTA Commuter Rail Contract

Mitrou to provide legal guidance as Keolis Commuter Services prepares to launch service July 1.

Keolis Commuter Services has named David T. Mitrou general counsel and director – labor affairs for the company’s Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) commuter rail contract that begins on July 1, 2014.

Mitrou joins Keolis from The McCormack Firm in Boston, where he was a partner with extensive experience representing commuter rail operators and other public transportation service providers in Massachusetts.  His client experience includes the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority, its past two commuter rail operators, and the Canadian National Railway Co.  Mitrou is a member of the National Association of Railroad Trial Counsel.

Previously, Mitrou was an assistant district attorney in Nassau County, N.Y.  He received his law degree from Northeastern University School of Law in 1999 and his undergraduate degree in applied psychology from Ithaca College in 1996, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and was a member of the Psi Chi honor society.  He has been recognized in “Massachusetts Super Lawyers – Rising Star Edition” seven times.
