Long Beach Transit’s board of directors unanimously approved its first contract agreement with its supervisors on Monday, Aug. 27 – three years after the employees initially organized under the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees

Long Beach Transit’s board of directors unanimously approved its first contract agreement with its supervisors on Monday, Aug. 27 – three years after the employees initially organized under the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees union.

The workers decided to unionize in 2015 because they said they often had worse pay and benefits than the people they managed.

Under the agreement, the supervisors are no longer at-will employees.
