UT: CVTD Developing Strategy to Deal with the Challenge of Growth

Cache Valley Transit District (CVTD) CEO and general manager Todd Beutler said growth is something they’re making plans for and discussing.

Over the past little while, KVNU has talked to representatives from Cache County cities and towns on how to deal with growth, with some estimates that the population of the valley will more than double in the coming decades. But along with the question of where are people going to live and in what type of density housing….also where are people going to drive and what role does mass transit continue to play?

Cache Valley Transit District (CVTD) CEO and general manager Todd Beutler said growth is something they’re making plans for and discussing as well.

He admits that right now with the congestion, the residential sprawl and more vehicles on the street it has been a struggle for buses to stay on time. He said what they hear from people who ride the bus and those who don’t is that it needs to be more convenient.
