The union representing Halifax Transit workers has filed for conciliation in contract negotiations.
The Amalgamated Transit Union Local 508 submitted the application to the minister of labour on Wednesday morning.
The union represents about 900 bus drivers, maintenance workers, ferry workers, para-transit Access-A-Bus division workers and receivers’ office workers.
The previous contract expired on Aug. 31, 2016.
