What a construction corporation president is calling “a clerical error” cost his company an $8.5 million contract with the county.
Following the error and a recommendation from Tulare County staff, the board of supervisors awarded a new contract to Visalia-based Seals Construction Inc. for the construction of the Transit Operations and Maintenance Facility.
Initially, Bakersfield's Klassen Corporation submitted the lowest bid for the constriction project. Seals Constriction Inc. challenged the bid, saying Klassen's submitted an incomplete certification statement.
