NE: City Council to Receive Presentation on Transit Study

The Grand Island City Council will get a review of the regional transit needs assessment and feasibility study at its meeting Tuesday.

The Grand Island City Council will get a review of the regional transit needs assessment and feasibility study at its meeting Tuesday.

Tuesday’s meeting is a study session meant to give information to council members and to allow them to ask questions. No formal actions are taken at a study session.

According to information in the council agenda, Grand Island and Hall County have had public transportation services since the 1970s, but after the 2010 census, when Grand Island became a metropolitan statistical area, the city of Grand Island took over transit services from Hall County in July 2016 and worked to come up with a five-year transit plan.
