GA: Cobb’s Lee to Push 1 Percent Sales Tax, BRT in 2015

Cobb County Commission Chairman Tim Lee says he wants to re-introduce a few proposals left behind in 2014, including a homestead options sales tax (HOST) and a revised bus rapid transit plan.

Cobb County Commission Chairman Tim Lee says he wants to re-introduce a few proposals left behind in 2014, including a homestead options sales tax (HOST) and a revised bus rapid transit plan. Lee told the Marietta Daily Journal he plans to spend the better part of 2015 convincing residents to vote for three things in 2016.

First, he hopes voters will re-elect him to office in 2016. Lee also hopes commissioners will authorize a referendum to allow voters to decide on a revised Bus Rapid Transit line on the November 2016 ballot. And he hopes to add a referendum to the May 2016 general primary ballot for a new homestead option sales tax.
