WA: Kitsap Transit Board Approves Bid for Finest Repair Work

Kitsap Transit’s board of commissioners on Tuesday approved a bid for repairs to the M/V Finest, the 350-passenger catamaran that will provide high-speed ferry service between Kingston and Seattle later this year.

UPDATE 3/7/18: The Finest is now expected to arrive Thursday morning instead of Thursday evening, according to Kitsap Transit Marine Services Director Darrell Bryan.

BREMERTON — Kitsap Transit’s board of commissioners on Tuesday approved a bid for repairs to the M/V Finest, the 350-passenger catamaran that will provide high-speed ferry service between Kingston and Seattle later this year.

Nichols Brothers Boat Builders, a Whidbey Island-based shipbuilder, was the lowest bidder at just under $3.4 million. Kitsap Transit had set aside $3.5 million for the work in its 2018 budget.
