Metrolinx and SCOOTY Mobility are testing out a new travel option for customers at select GO stations in the Brampton area.
On Aug. 11, Mount Pleasant, Brampton and Bramalea GO Stations became the home to SCOOTY e-scooter rentals, providing customers with a new environmentally friendly option to connect to the GO network.
As part of the vision for GO Rail Station Access, Metrolinx will continue to explore new ways to connect customers and residents to GO stations, putting a priority on making accessibility to public transportation easier.
SCOOTY Mobility is a GTA-based company that provides affordable access to electric scooters, with parking hubs located throughout the city of Brampton.
Customers can rent out a SCOOTY e-scooter at Mount Pleasant, Brampton and Bramalea GO Stations.
As part of the Province of Ontario’s five-year e-scooter pilot program, the city of Brampton has approved e-scooters for personal use, allowing for the selected GO stations to offer SCOOTY e-scooter rentals.
Renting a SCOOTY e-scooter
To rent out a scooter, customers must download the SCOOTY mobile app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store to view e-scooter available for rent. After creating a profile and inputting payment information, they can unlock a SCOOTY e-scooter from the parking hub located on the GO Station property and hub locations throughout the city.
Customers must follow all provincial and local laws surrounding electric mobility devices. In addition, SCOOTY rental e-scooters are not permitted to go onboard GO Transit vehicles or enter station buildings or platform areas at any time.
The e-scooter pilot program will remain in operation until Dec. 31, 2024.
