The revised opening date of the transit project is the result of an agreement between MDOT MTA and Purple Line Transit Partners.
Stage B of the Lawrence to Bryn Mawr Modernization project will see the construction of four new Red Line stations, as well as the reconstruction of a section of track structure.
The 2.4-mile light-rail extension includes six new stations and one relocated station that will link the Theater District up to the Stadium District and south to St. Joseph.
The restoration of services on the Metro-North Railroad comes three days after historic rainfall and flooding hit the region on July 9.
