L.A. Metro completes tunneling for Purple Subway Extension Project; Updates from FTA, Metropolitan Council, DART

Contractors utilized the latest TBM technology to excavate approximately 40 to 60 feet per day to help complete tunneling for the project during the past five years.
The grants will be going to 20 communities in 16 states to help communities develop local plans to encourage ridership by developing housing and businesses near transit corridors.
The Gold Line is one of three new BRT lines Metro Transit will open next year, expanding the region’s network of METRO lines that provide reliable, all-day service and stations with amenities.
The new initiative allows customers to be able to access key information on Google Maps, the Transit app and various other apps.
Mattern is one of four other promotions SunLine Transit has made to improve the agency.
The five-year contract renewal follows the recent implementation of a “Tap & Ride” payment option, which has allowed NJ Transit bus and light-rail customers to use contactless credit and debit cards.
A final contract is expected to be awarded in May 2024 with construction of the 2.8-mile extension is scheduled to begin later this year.
