TTC, TransLink and the STM are requesting the government of Canada launch the PTF Fund two years ahead of schedule to help the agencies address growing pressures on their systems.
The investment will advance maintenance and renewal projects to repair subway tunnel concrete rail foundations, replace light-rail track, grade crossing work and station upgrades.
The MOU marks the first study in New Mexico to explore innovative AV solutions for public transportation.
The grant will allow the agency to purchase four diesel-electric hybrid transit buses, which will replace four diesel-powered buses that have been in service since 2013.
The additional order of nine Siemens light-rail vehicles brings the total number of trains ordered to 45.
The new collective bargaining agreement increases wages, clarifies work schedules and creates an “IT Assistance Program.”
STV will provide project management, design, engineering, testing, inspection, commissioning and maintenance support services for the planned procurement.
