The budget includes nearly $849 million for daily operations, $201 million for capital investments and about $58 million in pass-through and contingency funds.
The enhancement of citations for fare evasion follows the passage of the Secure DC Bill, which includes a provision requiring anyone stopped for fare evasion to provide their true name and address and increases the penalty for assaulting bus and rail operators or WMATA employees.
