At this year’s UITP Global Public Transport Summit, Scheidt & Bachmann demonstrated its most up-to date ticketing solutions for public transportation. Scheidt & Bachmann showcased its ID-based ticketing system, an account-based system. The system was expanded by an innovative be-in/be-out concept based on ID-based ticketing, which was also exhibited.

ID-based ticketing systems store their entire database in a central background system, in the cloud. With this system, all data and processes can be centrally and thus very efficiently managed and new concepts such as best price calculation and a flexible tariff structure can be introduced. Each passenger is assigned a user account in which all transactions are merged. The user accounts can be personalized or kept anonymous. Various types of contactless ID media can be attributed to every account so that passengers can use any electronically readable ID media to use public transportation, such as a smart card, NFC media or credit cards.

An open system design facilitates the subsequent integration of additional functionalities, such as open payment or NFC technology. Scheidt & Bachmann’s ID-based System is already being implemented with customers in North America, the Netherlands and Hungary.

Scheidt & Bachmann’s be-in/be-out concept is based on ID-based ticketing and uses any standard smartphone as a medium. The FareGo BiBo-App offers passengers convenience like never experienced before. Unlike normal ticketing apps, the FareGo BiBo-App is not a shopping application for static ticket products but an application that allows dynamic journey pricing in real-time. The passenger does not need to do anything, not even take the phone out of their pocket.
