Routematch acquired by Modaxo and TripSpark
TripSpark and its parent company Modaxo Inc. have acquired Routematch from Uber Technologies, Inc. Routematch provides its 350-plus transit agency customer base with software for trip planning, vehicle tracking, payment and other tools for fixed-route and paratransit services.
This is the second acquisition Routematch has experienced in two years; it was first acquired by Uber in July 2020. Routematch will become part of TripSpark’s suite of solutions and will remain as a brand, which a spokesperson for Modaxo explains provides customers with expanded choice for the products and services they invest in.
Modaxo and TripSpark explain the acquisition brings together “two leading, complementary brands to provide transit agencies with best-in-class technology for the demand response, fixed route and mobility-on-demand segments.”
TripSpark General Manager Robert DeSanti said, “With this acquisition we are ‘moving together’ to best serve customers in the small to mid-size urban and rural transit agency sector. And it is together that we can develop and deliver newer solutions to help agencies provide responsive, sustainable and equitable transport to their communities.”
Head of Americas for Modaxo Rod Jones noted the company looks to acquire and grow businesses that grow its sole focus: People transportation.
“When we invest in a business like Routematch, we invest in their technology, people and customers for the long-term. This acquisition reinforces our commitment to public transit and brings us another step closer towards achieving our goal of moving the world’s people,” added Jones.
