Italy: Alstom Delivers 'Jazz,' the New Coradia Meridian Dedicated to the Italian Regional Railways

Alstom’s new Coradia Meridian regional train was delivered March 27 to Trenitalia at the Termini station in Rome in the presence of FS Italian Group management.

Alstom’s new Coradia Meridian regional train was delivered March 27 to Trenitalia at the Termini station in Rome in the presence of FS Italian Group management.

Renamed “Jazz” by the Italian railways, the train presented is part of the 70 Alstom Coradia Meridian trains ordered by FS in November 2012 .

“The delivery of the train as scheduled bears witness to the commitment of the entire company to this project” declared Pierre-Louis Bertina, president and managing director of Alstom Ferroviaria S.p.A “On the basis of this commission, Alstom has hired 300 employees thus contributing to the growth of the Italian railway industry. Our hope is that the train will open up new opportunities for our Italian factories and the sub-contractors that are equally committed to confronting this challenge”.
