Eagle Eye Networks Inc. announced that the company’s President and CEO Dean Drako will give the keynote address for University of California, Berkeley Engineers Week. Drako’s keynote,

“Building Successful Technology Companies: Strategies from Barracuda Networks, Eagle Eye Networks, and more” will be given on Monday, March 10 at 5 pm. Attendance is limited to current UC Berkeley students.

“Our students chose Dean Drako as this year’s keynote speaker because of his entrepreneurial leadership, his diverse background in software and hardware, and the widely known success of his Barracuda Networks, “ said Michelle Leighton, senior director of development, college of engineering. “Additionally, the fact that he recently launched his new venture Eagle Eye Networks doing cloud video security is fantastic.”

Engineers Week is UC Berkeley Engineering’s largest student event, containing six full days of professional development and networking, social events, showcases, and engineering speakers.  Students compete against each other in puzzle games and design contests.  More than 60 engineering clubs help organize the events; the 2013 event week had more than 1,000 cumulative attendees. Engineers Week will be hosted March 10 - 15, 2014 at various locations on the Northside of campus. The event is student-run and attendance is restricted to current Berkeley Engineering students.
