NY MTA Second Avenue Subway - 9/22/2011 Update

July 18, 2012
On September 22, 2011, a tunnel boring machine (TBM) broke through rock just east of the Lexington Ave-63rd St. station, making the completion of tunneling for Phase 1 of the Second Avenue Subway.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) announced that at 7:30 a.m. this past Monday, July 23, tunnel boring on MTA projects has been completed.

This is one of a series of MTA videos highlighting the projects work since it started in fall of 2007.
