At the InnoTrans 2018 Scheidt & Bachmann introduced FareGo Mobility Hub, the data hub for intermodal, cross-system target and real time information in public transport. Based on real-time data, the FareGo Mobility Hub provides passengers with information about the current transport status and all possible intermodal connections in their region.

"We are pleased to be able to support our customers with an innovative passenger information solution from Scheidt & Bachmann. Actually, the data hub is already successfully in operation under the name RIMOS. With the integration into our account-based ticketing system FareGo Suite, we can now offer our customers even more: the complete ticketing and information technology from a single source," explains Manfred Troll enthusiastically.

The central solution bundles and distributes all information between the systems involved in order to make it available to users and passengers via apps or online – also between different transport providers. To achieve this, the FareGo Mobility Hub uses standardized interfaces and services.

Manfred Troll, product line manager at Scheidt & Bachmann, is convinced: “The FareGo Mobility Hub makes intermodal passenger information across system boundaries a reality. It allows displaying current departure information from different vehicles and operators at transfer stations in a uniform way. This is an enormous improvement and a real benefit for passengers.”

Users and passengers can view the entire route network and vehicles running on it clearly and intuitively on an interactive map. Detailed information on the course of the individual vehicles is presented in the form of pearl chains. Dynamic passenger information boards show the current status information for the individual stops. This is achieved by bundling the current geopositions of the vehicles and their relative timetable situation with the annual timetable in the FareGo Mobility Hub, merging them and finally forwarding them via various web services to the respective end devices so that they can be called up via smartphone or online, for example.

Key of the FareGo Mobility Hub is its central approach: The data exchange is based on defined standard formats and standardized interfaces. Direct connections between various, possibly even technically different transport companies and systems are not very efficient. They lead to complex hardware and software landscapes that can hardly be maintained. The FareGo Mobility Hub, on the other hand, is designed for central communication: The connected systems no longer communicate directly, but only centrally via the FareGo Mobility Hub.

The FareGo Mobility Hub is a highly available and scalable system consisting of several virtual application and database servers. Thanks to its state-of-the-art software architecture, the FareGo Mobility Hub can easily be integrated into an existing system environment. The modular solution is platform-independent, extensible, and requires minimal installation and maintenance effort.
