BAF Encourages Americans to Demand Action on a Long-Term Infrastructure Plan

With millions of Americans leaving home for Thanksgiving, Building America’s Future is renewing its call for people to use its mobile app to report travel delays and remind representatives in Congress about the dire state of American roads, bridges, airports and rails.

This year, AAA expects 43.5 million people will travel at least 50 miles from home for Thanksgiving. This means traffic jams will be on the rise, leading to congestion and adding to the stressful nature of travel.

“It is imperative that Congress and the Administration hear our voices and work together to produce a long-term and well-funded plan to revitalize current infrastructure and meet the demands of current and future generations,” said Marcia Hale, president of Building America’s Future. “Our leaders must offer direct, federal dollars to address our aging roads, rails, runways and bridges. Our collapsing infrastructure must be a priority, or we will continue to fall behind as a nation.”

Americans can make their voices heard in Washington by using the “I’m Stuck” app. They’ll be able to report problems directly with their representatives in Congress, and share their pain and frustrations of outdated and overburdened transportation systems.
