The Ann Arbor Area Transportation Authority has announce the release of their upgraded service alert notification system, MyAlerts. The MyAlerts System connects users with valuable information on TheRide’s services including route detours and service disruption information.

Passengers that sign up for a free subscription to TheRide’s MyAlerts system are able to receive up-to-date details about their specific route. With the upgraded alerts system, route detours and service disruption information are integrated directly into the passenger tools on TheRide.org. Passengers can now receive important service information directly while using Plan My Trip, Track My Bus, and when using TheRide’s Text My Bus tool.

“We understand how important it is for passengers to have real-time information specific to the routes they use. By subscribing to our MyAlerts system, passengers can determine which routes they want to receive emails about. With the alerts system now being integrated with our passenger tools, we are adding another layer of knowledge for those planning their trips and using our service,” Mary Stasiak, manager of community relations with TheRide said.

By upgrading the Alerts system, external mobile application developers now have access to add service disruption notifications to their apps.
