ETA Transit Systems announced Dec. 8, that it has completed its integration of its flagship Spot intelligent transit system (ITS) at Binghamton University.

The project, which provides real-time arrival updates on the university’s shuttle services, provides the school and its riders with enhanced reporting and vehicle tracking capabilities.

“ETA has provided us with a critical update to our transit services,” said Dave Husch, director of University Transportation. “The integration of automatic passenger counting with student identification cards will greatly enhance our ability to meet the current and future needs of our riders.”

Adds Timothy Redband, director of OCC Transport who operates Binghamton’s shuttle service, “The ease of operation of the Spot system greatly simplifies the responsibilities of our student drivers while still delivering the necessary information to streamline operations.”

Nicole Castonguay, CEO at ETA Transit says, “The needs of the university market can vary greatly from those at the municipal or corporate markets. Our Spot system delivers the flexibility to meet these wideranging needs, and ETA’s dedication to delivering a pain-free, seamless integration affords our educational clients the ability to focus their efforts on their core customers—their students.”
