Lumenor and Jacksonville Transportation Authority Win Jacksonville Business Journal BizTech 'IT Dream Team' Award

Dec. 2, 2014
The award recognizes the team for the Firefly Enterprise Resource Planning system that reengineered all the JTA’s back office systems through a singlesource technology and streamlined the previous manual and labor-intensive processes.

Lumenor Consulting Group announced Nov. 25 it is a co-winner for the “IT Dream Team” awarded to the Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) by the Jacksonville Business Journal for the 2014 BizTech Innovation Awards. The award recognizes the team for the Firefly Enterprise Resource Planning system that reengineered all the JTA’s back office systems through a singlesource technology and streamlined the previous manual and labor-intensive processes.

The new integrated real-time system supports the financial, procurement, human resources, inventory and asset management needs for JTA and delivers reduced cycle times and a single source of truth, giving management more time for analyzing data to make better business decisions, as well as faster response times for vendors and customers.

The award was presented at a luncheon Oct. 31 at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville. The BizTech Innovation awards identify and recognize the advances Jacksonville area businesses are making in the ways they develop and use technology for their own companies and/or their clients.

Lumenor led the Firefly team along with the JTA’s subject matter experts and Oracle configuration consultant KPMG as the Oracle implementation provider. The team took the project live in a record nine months, a first in the transportation industry for a project of its scope.

“We used Lumenor’s accelerated project methodology with a focus on business sponsorship, data standards, continued communications, and training. At all times, the focus was on providing new processes, which JTA employees could use without feeling intimidated by the technology, “ said Bridgette Karra, CEO and co-founder of Lumenor “In addition, KPMG further shortened the timeline and cost by providing configuration and implementation of all modules using their proprietary accelerators.”

“Together, the Jacksonville Transportation Authority and Lumenor Consulting Group have built a foundation upon which the authority can support more exciting and innovative initiatives; especially in the areas of business intelligence and analytics,” said Jignesh Patel, the president and co-Founder of Lumenor. “We also want to acknowledge the leadership of Nathaniel P. Ford, JTA’s CEO, and his entire staff for their support and dedication.”
