City Utilities Holding Formal Dedication of new Transit Center

City Utilities will hold a formal dedication of the Transit Center, located at 211 N. Main, on Friday, May 6, at 10:00 a.m., with a public Grand Opening from 6:00 – 10:00 p.m., in conjunction with First Friday Artwalk.

City Utilities will hold a formal dedication of the Transit Center, located at 211 N. Main, on Friday, May 6, at 10:00 a.m., with a public Grand Opening from 6:00 – 10:00 p.m., in conjunction with First Friday Artwalk. This event will feature live music and exhibit artwork from CU employees.

“We are excited to complete this project and provide an improved, more efficient, and comfortable facility for our customers,” said Kelly Turner, Director of Transit, “Not only will those using transit benefit from this facility, it will be an asset to the entire community and downtown area for many years.”

Total project cost for the Transit Center is $4.4 million with $3.6 provided by federal funding through the Federal Transit Administration.

Parking for the dedication is available at the City parking garages.
