Cape Cod RTA Announces Homeland Security Top Rating

The Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority has announced it has received a Top Rating from the U.S Department of Homeland Security Transportation Security Administration.
The Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority has announced it has received a Top Rating from the U.S Department of Homeland Security Transportation Security Administration. A Baseline Assessment for Security Enhancement (BASE) Review was conducted targeting areas such as Public Awareness, Cyber-Security, Facility Security, and Management and Accountability.
Tom Cahir, administrator of the Cape Cod RTA said, “Our goal has always been to provide a safe environment for our visitors and passengers. We are actively involved in the Barnstable County Regional Emergency Planning Committee and have a plan in place for security threats or uncontrollable natural events. We are very pleased with the results of the assessment and will continue to monitor our security system.”
The Cape Cod RTA has also recently replaced and expanded its surveillance system. The high-definition cameras cover the Hyannis Transportation Center as well as the long term parking lots on the property. The final step in the installation of the system will provide surveillance video feed to the Barnstable Police Department.
