A British Transport Police (BTP) officer has just been given a top award by the FBI for his work bringing down a gang that was operating across the Atlantic, stealing bank details.

PC Mark Pink worked alongside FBI field officers to investigate an international Romanian “criminal enterprise”, who were attaching card skimmers and video equipment to ATM machines in places including London.

The skimmers were recording debit card numbers, whilst the video footage caught their PIN – and that information was then sent to other members of the gang in the USA.

Mark provided invaluable intelligence on a key member of the criminal gang, which led to a successful prosecution.

His awesome work meant he’s been handed a Director’s Award from the FBI – which was presented to him by our Chief Constable Paul Crowther last week.

Mark said: “This was a great example of law enforcement agencies working together in partnership in bringing to justice organised criminal gangs that think they can get away with committing offences across the globe."
