Translink to work with SISCOG on Rail Validation System project

Sept. 5, 2023
The project will be developed and maintained in partnership with Anaeko, a data engineering company responsible for solution hosting, integration and data migration.

TransLink has partnered with SISCOG to design, develop and maintain its new Rail Validation System.

ONTIME, FLEET and CREWS software products will be the cornerstones of the system that TransLink is planning for in alignment with its goal towards delivering its “Better, Connected” Strategy. Encompassing the long-term planning to the day-of-operation of train timetables, rolling stock and staff, including optimization features, the cloud-hosted solution will facilitate the delivery of the new rail timetable in 2024, maximize efficiencies across the business and ensure consistent management of those resources.

The project will be developed and maintained in partnership with Anaeko, a data engineering company responsible for solution hosting, integration and data migration.

“This system will support the internal TransLink team in delivering an optimized and efficient service for our passengers”, says Richard Knox, TransLink general manager of rail services. “We look forward to working with the SISCOG team to use this enhanced technology to improve services, maximize the use of resources and ensure continued high-quality performance.”

With a future-oriented mindset, TransLink sought a new Rail Validation System capable of ensuring that new relevant underway or planned projects reach their full potential. These include the future Belfast Grand Central Station, due for completion late 2024, with eight railway platforms, the new Rail Operating Center, enhancing and centralizing the three existing Railway Signaling Control points and the new fleet.

Additionally, the system will aid in the planning and management of the Belfast-Dublin Enterprise train, operated in partnership with Irish Rail.

“We are honored to have earned TransLink’s trust for the design of the new Rail Validation System. Our team is eager to leverage our experience and expertise to deliver a system that elevates current operations and tackles future challenges head-on, ensuring TransLink’s customers experience a best-in-class transport service," said SISCOG’s Head of Strategic Development Eurico Matos.

With this new contract, SISCOG sees its client base in the United Kingdom reinforced, as TransLink joins London Underground in optimizing resources with the company’s solutions.
