In response to a rating issued by the Federal Transit Administration regarding the Gateway Project, Michael Friedberg, executive director of the Coalition for the Northeast Corridor, released the following statement:

"This decision means that concerned stakeholders must raise their voices and work harder than ever to show the White House and Congress that our nation needs the Gateway Project now to continue growing the economy and creating good jobs. This is not just about the region’s thousands of businesses and millions of commuters who desperately need the new transportation infrastructure that Gateway would provide – it is about making our country more competitive and addressing a widely known threat to our national economy. If left unaddressed, that economic threat could quickly become a crisis that slows productivity and harms businesses and other stakeholders throughout the Northeast Corridor and across the nation."
