TTC Celebrates Kindness Week

Feb. 27, 2015

March 1-6 is Kindness Week across the GTA. The Human Kindness Project will hold a customer appreciation day on the TTC this Monday at Bloor-Yonge, Finch and Eglinton stations.

Student volunteers will be holding "kindness" placards and handing out treats to customers. Kindness Week is a weeklong program of the non-profit Human Kindness Project in partnership with the Toronto District School Board to encourage kindness through events across the city.

There are a number of ways TTC customers can help make the TTC the kinder way:

  • Priority seating is for seniors, people with a disability and expectant mothers. Be sure to offer up your seat.
  • Carry your knapsack by your side, not on your back, on crowded vehicles.
  • Keep bags on your lap or on the floor by your feet. Seats are for people.
  • Don't block the doors - move right into the vehicle to allow others to enter.
