Lander Simulation shared its latest developments in driving simulators at InnoTrans 2016. Lander creates simulators in both rail and the automotive industry, and provide training for operators, prepping them to respond to incidents and faults.

The tram simulator can utilize the specific routes of the transit property, as well as a general training module. The simulator also incorporates the weather in the agencies region — allowing for operators to train using the natural environment. The engineering behind the software enables the vehicle to respond accordingly to conditions such as passenger load (weight), or weather: rain and snow. In each condition the brakes respond accordingly as well.

The tram simulator is already in use in locations across Europe, with simulator equipment recently being installed in the Netherlands, Hungary, Germany and Spain among other places.

The use of simulators for training purposes gives rise to greater efficiency and a considerable reduction of accident risks, making work much safer and more effective. Furthermore, there are endless situations that would be too costly or impossible to train without using simulation. The possibilities of customising the exercises for the training needs of each person make it very effective. Students can repeat the exercises until they have fully understood all the concepts.

Lander and NEM Solutions belong to the CAF Group.
